The AVIS system is an Advanced Video Inspection System which substantially increases quality and consistency. The system is synchronised to the repeat length. The image position and zoom can be adjusted using operator friendly on-screen controls. An intuitive menu driven setup allows the operator to utilise the full range of Tecscan’s powerful inspection software. Programme mode allows set positions along and across the web to be inspected automatically with or without defect detection. Scan mode allows automatic 100% repeat length inspection with or without defect detection. Store and recall images and camera position for picture-in-picture comparison, and save the job setup to minimise setup time. Store split screen images to be recalled for live image comparison and burn those images to CD for customer verification or job forwarding.

AVIS/H – AVIS/HM – AVIS/HPQ

After some leading research undertaken by Tecscan, it was clear to see that there was a need for three distinct products to provide a solution to all the aspects of hologram production which create waste and slow down production. Firstly, the AVIS/H uses powerful, specifically developed Tecscan hologram software to control the camera. The AVIS/H is a passive system that combines our own world leading optical technology with our superior control system to provide the world’s best image of hologram production. This is a computer based system that has the ability to store images, scan the entire repeat length in many easily controlled ways, and create job files for QC reference.

Next is the AVIS/HM which adds a powerful second function to the AVIS/H. A second fixed lens high resolution camera allows critical measurements to be taken on live production at full speed to an accuracy of 0.01mm. This can be used to measure print to hologram, hologram to edge, hologram to split marks, shim gap, etc., allowing these measurements to be made without slowing or stopping production.

And finally, the AVIS/HPQ is Tecscan’s flagship hologram system. The ONLY defect detection system available designed specifically to inspect embossed hologram production. This is not a modified print defect detection system; the AVIS/HPQ has been developed specifically to inspect and detect defects in embossed production. The features of the AVIS/HPQ include failed image storage, accurate yield calculations, alarm beacon triggered on defect detection, roll map recording showing in Excel format exactly where on the roll the defects are located, as well as a job information sheet giving job times, yield figures and more, to provide first class quality control documents for each job. As with all our computer based systems, the AVIS/HPQ benefits from the ability to be connected to the internal network, allowing remote access, for instance from the production manager’s office.
